2012-2016 Committee Nominations

2012-2016 Nomination process is now open!

How will U serve?

The Mississippi Conference Office of Connectional Ministries will begin to identify nominees for Conference boards and committees that will serve for the 2012-2016 now through December 31. All persons, laity and clergy, interested in serving on any conference committee or board must all submit a nomination form.

The Nomination form is available in two formats: an online template and a Word document. The template is not required but it is the preferred format because of the advantage of 24-hour access using the Survey Monkey template (see below). You may also call the office and request a hard copy of the form if necessary.

The Conference is looking for resourceful and committed persons with leadership skills and a passion for the work. Pastors, district superintendents, and laity can help with the process by recruiting and identifying persons in their local churches and or districts who should self-nominate.

Steps in the Leadership Selection Process:

I. DISCERNMENT—Clergy and laity who want to be considered for nomination to any conference leadership position must identify themselves as POTENTIAL candidates for leadership by submitting a Talent Bank form. Persons who do not fill out a form will not be considered for nomination. December 31, 2011 is the deadline for submitting Talent Bank form.

II. CONSULTATION — Connectional Ministries will receive and disburse a slate of nominees from persons of interest to related area director for review and coordinate the nominations process with the Conference Committee on Nominations.

III. ELECTION — The Conference Committee on Nominations will submit (committee and board chairs and members) at the 2012 Annual Conference.

IV. TRAINING — After Annual Conference in 2012, training will be given to the newly elected leadership in the summer of 2012. V. SERVING — The newly elected conference leaders will begin July 1, 2012.
